Looking Toward The Future...

I am excited to partner with you in transforming your outdoor space into a vibrant, ecologically rich native habitat.

As Garden Wild Services grows, my vision extends beyond individual backyards to a broader impact on Virginia's varied ecosystems. In the initial years, my focus will be on solidifying our foundation and expanding our reach. This includes pursuing additional licensing and certifications to enable us to take on larger, more complex habitat installation projects. I also aim to register Garden Wild Services with prominent wildlife and conservation organizations specific to Virginia, further validating our mission and connecting us with a network that supports habitat creation. Growing the business will also involve bringing in more hands; hiring additional employees will be crucial to scaling our operations and taking on a greater volume of projects. Eventually, I plan to begin growing some of our most frequently used plants ourselves, which could potentially start sooner if profitability allows. This would directly improve our ability to create or enhance habitat as a whole and lower costs.

Looking ahead to the ten-year mark, my ambition is to shift a significant portion of our focus towards larger private residences & businesses, over 80% of all wild space in Virginia is located on private lands.   By securing large-scale contracts, we can generate substantial profits that will allow us to subsidize and firther reduce the costs for homeowner installations, but the ultimate goal will continue to be maximizing the amount of native habitat we can create across Virginia. This will also allow us to begin "donating whole habitats" to organizations like schools, churches, and other community-based infrastructure without needing them to hire GardenWild Services outright to do so.

A long-term dream is to acquire a physical 'Garden Wild Farms' location, a dedicated space where we can grow our own native plants, while still maintaining strong relationships with other local growers, Do community outreach and education and get even more hands-on. Concurrently, I envision establishing a non-profit arm of Garden Wild Services. This non-profit would be dedicated to creating native habitats in overlooked public spaces, like parks and along roadways, and would actively advocate for and promote native-based landscaping within commercial development, striving to transform how large-scale projects approach environmental integration. It also will be dedicated to community outreach, education, and direct initiatives to locate, identify, and protect high-diversity wild spaces. The establishment of a non-profit would also open up a world of grants & access to foundations who's missions align with our own which would be invaluable to the end goals.

While this may seem incredibly ambitious for this stage of this journey, my continued sole focus at the moment is making sure GardenWild Services is a success. On step, and backyard, at a time. This success, for me, will be measured in the direct amount of natural or “wild” space I am able to help convert to wildlife habitat, and for every person we help reconnect with nature. I hope to nurture a love & reverence of all our “wild spaces” - big or small- for generations to come and help guarantee future generations can continue to learn by emersion in these amazing environments... one backyard at a time.
